Writing for AstroPaper in Zeku.
AstroPaper is a minimal, accessible blog theme, and one of the most popular Astro themes on GitHub. Zeku opens it as it comes, with no setup, and it passed all eleven checks in Zeku's theme tests.
Checked , against the theme's own repository.
Opening it
Open your AstroPaper project's folder, and the dashboard shows two collections: Posts, from src/content/posts, and Pages, which holds the text of the About page. Zeku reads them from AstroPaper's content.config.ts, including the folder its BLOG_PATH setting names.
The fields
Each post's frontmatter becomes a form built from AstroPaper's schema. title, pubDatetime and description are required, and the form marks them. pubDatetime and modDatetime get date pickers, tags suggests the tags your other posts use, featured and draft are checkboxes, and ogImage shows a thumbnail of the image it points at. The dashboard sorts posts by pubDatetime and shows description on each card.
A new post
New writes a post into src/content/posts with the frontmatter AstroPaper needs, ready to fill in:
pubDatetime: 2026-10-06
title: "Your title"
featured: false
draft: false
tags: []
description: ""Zeku writes dates in the format set in Settings > Usability, a plain date to start with. AstroPaper's own posts carry a time as well, like 2022-09-23T15:22:00Z, and both are fine with its schema. If you want the time, change the date format there.
Images
Paste or drop an image onto the ogImage field and Zeku asks for a description, saves the file in src/assets/images, and writes ../../assets/images/your-image.png, the form AstroPaper's own example uses, so Astro optimizes it. An image pasted into a post is saved in an assets folder beside your posts. The image folder for each kind is a setting in Settings > Content if you'd rather keep them elsewhere.
Drafts
A post with draft: true shows a Draft badge on its card, and clicking the badge publishes it. AstroPaper also leaves out any file whose name starts with an underscore, and Zeku reads that rule from its configuration, so _idea.md appears as a draft too. Turn on Underscore drafts in Settings > Usability if you'd like Zeku to name drafts that way.
Seeing your page
The site preview runs AstroPaper's own pnpm dev beside the editor and shows the post at its real address, /posts/your-file-name/. Copy live URL gives the same address on your site.
