Writing for Firefly in Zeku.

Firefly is a feature-rich blog theme built on Fuwari, with projects, moments and series. Zeku opens it as it comes, with no setup, and it passed all eleven checks in Zeku's theme tests.

Checked , against the theme's own repository.

Opening it

Open your Firefly project's folder, and the dashboard shows Firefly's four collections: Posts and Projects, each page with its own address, and Spec and Dynamic, which hold the text of the theme's special pages and its short moments, with no pages of their own. Firefly's sample content is in Chinese, and Zeku shows it as written.

The fields

Firefly keeps Fuwari's fields and adds a few. In the frontmatter form, title and published are required, published gets a date picker, tags, category and series suggest the values your other posts use, draft is a checkbox, and image shows the cover's thumbnail.

A new post

New writes a post into src/content/posts:

title: "Your title"
published: 2026-10-06
draft: false
description: ""
image: ""
tags: []
category: ""
series: ""

Images

Firefly's posts keep their pictures in an images folder next to them, written as ./images/cover.avif, and Zeku follows that: a cover dropped on the image field is described, saved in that folder and written as ./images/your-cover.png, and a photo pasted into a post goes there too.

What Firefly renders

Firefly's configuration adds callouts, ::: blocks, math and Mermaid diagrams, and Zeku draws each of them in live preview. Firefly draws its diagrams with merman rather than Mermaid itself, and Zeku uses merman too for a site like this, so a diagram looks the way it will on the page. Settings > Content lists each syntax with the plugin behind it.

Seeing your page

The site preview runs Firefly's own pnpm dev beside the editor. Posts are at /posts/your-file-name/ and projects at /projects/your-file-name/, the addresses the cards and Copy live URL use as well.
